From our site on the slope of North Mountain, in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, we look over the tranquil Back Creek Valley. From the middle of the 19th century until the beginning of the 21st, this farm was one of many active apple farms in this region. Now the old trees primarily feed the resident deer, and the occasional wandering artist. Walking trails lead to a stream and pond, old orchards, and expansive woods of oaks, maples, and sycamores.

As of 2016, our artist residency program is now called North Mountain. For information about the residency, please visit northmountainresidency.org.

Our current project is the reconstruction of an old tenant house on the property. Read more at The Orchard House project.
